I think what appeals to me the most about a zombie apocalypse is the simplicity of it. Gone are the days of updating apps, paying the electric bill, going grocery shopping, planning vacations, getting the oil changed, filing your taxes, "working on yourself", deciding what's for dinner, grooming the dogs, folding the laundry, washing the dishes, tracking your carbs, charging the phone, trimming your nails, recycling...I think there's one more thing but it's not coming to me.
Once the Z day arrives it's all about one thing...killing zombies. Sometimes run/walking away from zombies and, when you're tired, hiding from zombies.
That's it. That's your day.
Wait...I guess we'll need to eat so after you're done with the zombie stuff, need to find some food but that shouldn't be that hard.
Once you fill your belly with some wholesome food delivered to you from the earth, the day is complete. No worries.
Sheeeitt...we probably need shelter depending on the weather.
Ok...once we've handled the zombie horde and got our belly's full, we can find a convenient cave or build a quick lean to for the night. We can refine it tomorrow.Â
Now the day is complete and we can chill. After we get a fire going.
Easy peasy.
Damn...we probably aren't smelling great after all of that so need to figure that out but we can do that tomorrow as well. We also ran out of ammunition today on horde number one so either need to make some pointy stick weapons, search for a gun store that hasn't been looted or find some dude that knows how to make bullets.Â
Got a full day tomorrow.
Now that I'm writing this out for the first time, I'm realizing that I may have over romanticized the zombie apocalypse and charging my phone isn't sounding too bad.Â
